The original plate in my Gaggia classic was alumni (I think). After 10 years of use it was corroded and the rim was mostly gone. Bought this and replaced alongside the group seal (rubber seal), and now the machine is as good as new again!

One could say swiss quality standard... Seriously: fits exactly the dimensions of the Original Gaggia Classic or Paros/Tebe alloy plate. I use it with an ims 35Micron shower and I have the impression, the shots are more repetitive now.

The new plate supplied is a high quality machined component, better than the original which had corroded on the edge seal. Fairly easy to replace if you have the right tools.

Bought this refurbishing my Classic. Old holder was corroded, tired and aluminium. This brass version heats up quickly, seems to hold heat better, is a perfect fit and is a cheap, effective upgrade with genuine benefits.

I bought this with a new IMS shower screen and fitted both to my Gaggia Classic. East to fit; amazing how much gunk there was on the old shower plate holder despite back flushing with cleaner regularly.

Works well.

I pondered as to whether or not to buy this however upon removal of the original aluminium plate, i wished i had done it some time ago. Very well made and holds the heat better than Aluminium.

Beautifully machined and heavy compared to the original Gaggia item. Theoretically this transfers the heat quicker and holds it better. We combined this with a shower-screen upgrade to a GA200IM. Our Gaggia Classic is making better coffee than it ever has! Not cheap but a very worthwhile upgrade.

Beautiful and well made. Fits perfectly as a replacement to the original alloy plate holder. I have yet to test it out because I’m still waiting on gaskets for my boiler but this item shipped quick and was thoughtfully packaged.

The heavy brass holder holds heat better than the lightweight aluminium/alloy original, and maintains temperature better on longer or multiple shots. Old original shower plate holder was a bit corroded and difficult to remove - I put the noses of a pair of pliers into the screw holes and used a screwdriver as a T bar until it separated from the machine. New holder fitted in place no trouble, using original screws.

After years of cleaning and wear and tear, I finally replaced my shower plate holder. I upgraded from aluminium to brass. Supposedly retains heat better. Easy swap over, apart from the elbow grease required to remove the old one. I'm sure everyone who reads this will understand!

My Gaggia Classic is probably 10 years old and I recently found this shop which has been a great source of spares to refurbish the machine. My latest purchase was this brass shower plate to replace the old cast aluminium original which was corroded. It’s a solid piece of engineering that has certainly improved the ‘creme’ on my espresso. Well worth the money and easy to fit once I got the old one off!

Bought to replace the original alloy version which over the years had unpleasantly discoloured and been damaged by some heavy duty scale removal. Water flow has now improved and hopefully it should resist attack by Puly Caff and descaler. It also weighs three times as much (I checked) as the old one so that should help with water temperature stability.

This is an excellent upgrade to the stock aluminium showerhead which eventually becomes pitted and wears down with time blocking the flow and making increasingly difficult to clean. The holes seem slightly smaller than the stock original but there is no issue with flow. Easy to fit and clean and not much more in cost than getting s stick original so well worth paying the extra few pounds. Another top product from the espresso shop

I will admit that I was only looking for a new gasket when I saw this part. I was initially attracted by its appearance, then I was impressed by the reviews. Having now used it, I really like it. I am not sure why (maybe it is the smaller holes) but with a new gasket and this part I am definitely getting a better crema.

fitted this to a gaggia classic as the factory fitted plate was disgusting. When using puly cleaner the old plate would blacken, caused by a chemical reaction. Brass is significantly less reactive. It also retains heat much better

This plate is an upgrade to the stock aluminum one. Brass is very heavy, 4 or 5 times more than aluminum. That adds thermal mass in a key location, just between the boiler and the portafilter.

Shipping to the US was fairly fast (less than 2 weeks). I would recommend both the product and the vendor.

This big heavy hunk of precision machined brass is worlds apart from the stock oem cast aluminum piece, ten times better imo.
Definitely a worthwhile upgrade and less than half the price of other retailers. Shipping from the U.K. to the U.S. was actually pretty fast, around ten days. Not bad if you ask me.
