No there has never been a brass version. The plastic sleeve was implemented in Pavoni lever machines in the year 2000 and has not changed.

I think this needs a special tool to remove and replace this part? Do you stock this? Or can you advise where to get one from?

Hi Ian
Does not need a special tool. If you use a piece of metal bar 5mm square 50mm long and a pair of pliers this screws in and out very easily

my sleeve has a circular indention( that i can feel with my finger, machine is apart) around the inside about 1 inch in from the bottom---- i assume this means i need a new sleeve? or is it designed that way?
